CMM Operator / Programmer

Due to long term ongoing projects and new business we have an exciting opportunity for a CMM Operator / Programmer. The role will involve programming and operating our DEA Global CMM.

This demanding role would suit someone with previous work experience in precision engineering, together with a proven background programming and operating a CMM. The successful candidate will have clear, articulate communication skills and be confident and able to interact across all levels of the business.

Skills and Experience :
  • Experience of CMM Measuring - Essential
  • Experience in a low to medium volume, high tolerance production environment
  • Ideally, 2-3 years' experience in a similar environment
  • Experience in use of a range of measuring equipment, Talyrond, Mitutoyo Roundness Test, micrometers, Trimos Height Gauge etc.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to company manufacturing procedures
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Driving License preferred.

Due to long term ongoing projects and new business we have an exciting opportunity for a number of CNC Millers to join the team. The role will report directly to our Production Manager.

This demanding role would suit someone with previous work experience in precision engineering, together with a proven background running CNC Mills. The successful candidate will have clear, articulate communication skills and be confident and able to interact across all levels of the business.

Skills and Experience :
  • CNC machining and engineering background
  • Comprehensive knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
  • Extensive hands on experience of using all types of traditional measuring equipment including, digital height gauges, shadow graphs, micrometre’s, digital Vernier calliper’s, bore micrometres, pin & thread gauges etc
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work under your own initiative
  • You will be analytical, accurate and thorough in all aspects of your work
  • Familiarity with an ISO9001:2008 quality environment, promoting and being part of continual improvement
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with ERP/MRP software packages would be of benefit but not essential
  • Experience of programming and using CMM’s would be advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload in a changing environment.
